Hey everyone,
Oka so theres something on my mind I want to share. Okay so a blog is an online journal or a weblog. It is a personal space to just be the real you and not to get judged on your opinion it should just be a place to express your views and not worry about what anyone thinks about your thoughts. But here is the thing, I do worry sometimes I try so hard to please others with this blog and I forget that this is really supposed to be for me. I try to think of topics and think of stuff that will impress or speak to everyone else and not worry about what would speak to me if I was reading. I try to become a person I am not 100 percent. The posts I post yes, are what I would say and I DO express the real me but I worry too much about followers and sponsors and my blog popularity who cares how many people read my blog it is the thought of possibly being able to really speak to even just one person and bring them closer to God that is why I blog. If I have 100 sponsors and 1000 readers but do not speak to people and express myself to anyone than whats the point? I know that when most people read your blog they like hearing the voices of you not another blog you like, or information on someone else's giveaway or contests. While all that is kind of important posting posts with quality and witnessing for the Lord through me is truly my main goal. So thats the final thing from here on out my blog is going to be more quality posts with what is in MY mind or in MY heart not in someone else's heart and someone else's posts.

I love blogging but don't really have a schedule to when I blog. Please comment and tell me how many days a week you think I should blog on what days and if you would rather have just spontaneous blog posts or those on some kind of routine schedule.

I could have written this post. Whenever I start thinking that way -- how popular can I make this? how can I promote it better? etc -- that's when I'm doing it for someone besides God. It's hard to put Him as the central focus, and not let it be all about me. It's also hard not to care what anyone else thinks... but God made you you! Be yourself! People love someone who is genuinely themself!
ReplyDeleteI've found that blogging twice a week helps me focus. Maybe choosing one or two days might help you too?

ReplyDeleteI really don't have a scheduled time to post, but I try to do it at least twice a week. So, yeah, what Charity said ;)
Great post, Ashley! I would rather have 5 followers and encourage every single one of them than have 100 and not encourage any of them. Keep up the good work. I agree with Trinka and Charity. Posting 2 times a week sounds good. :D
ReplyDeleteA blog should be whatever the writer wants it to be, Ashley - so write about things you are passionate about and believe in. That is when your message and heart will come through.
ReplyDeleteBlogging twice a week or whatever number you chose does help. I simple "schedule" my posts (most the time) and leave it at that - I love that feature. I am just starting to have a new "schedule," and so far, I am really happy with it. =)

I wish I could say that it's easy for me to be content with the number of followers that I have, but it isn't always easy for me. That is why this post was so encouraging!! I am trying to keep my focus on God when I blog, and not on what I can get out of the post, except for encouraging other girls. :)
ReplyDeleteOn another note, I don't care when you post :) I post whenever something is on my mind, or on my heart, and I simply post about that. That way I don't feel pressured about posting, and each one of my posts is heartfelt :)
