Guest post by Hannah about Thankfulness

Hi! I'm Hannah, and I have a blog called Hannah's Place, and a devotional blog named Wishing Hearts (see links on bottom). I'm here to guest-post on Ashley's wonderful blog about thankfulness.

Sometimes it's so hard to be thankful for what we have. Trust me, I know--I haven't been thankful for many things. But we have to be thankful for things we are given. Like granny's old sweater she knitted for you--uggh! Yuck! Uh.......no thanks, Granny. But when you respond like that, one, you are being ungrateful, and two, you hurt Granny's feelings--you can't imagine how much she worked to make that sweater--probably double the work it would have taken you because of her age. So being unthankful--not a good way to go. But when you are thankful to Granny for all her hard working and knitting you make her feel good inside! You brighten her day with just a little "Thanks, Granny! It must have taken you forever--you're so thoughtful!" Being thankful is one of the most important things we can do. Next time you get something you don't want, remember the feelings of others instead of your own selfishness, and God will bless you for it.

Thanks to Ash for letting me guest-post! Hope you liked it! Check out my blogs at:

Obstacles God can help us overcome

Okay so we all have obstacles in life. Some big some small but if we didnt have challenges in life our faith couldnt get stronger so today I am sharing with you my obstacle so here it is:

Dance! That is my obstacle. Most dancers that go to my studio have been dancing since they were 3, or take 15 hours of dance a week, or have perfect dancer bodies and I have just started there and only dance 3 hours a week. But I work so hard: every night wether I have class or not I dance about 2 hours of practicing sometimes more and I work out to get stronger and I always ask my teacher what I need to work on and spend time on that. Why? Because I want more than anything to be on the competition dance team and tryouts are in August. So i have to work really hard.  But I cant do it on my own I need God to help me beat the odds and give me my determination. We should all want more than anything to live eternally in heaven so we should work hard at it. We should make it a priority to work hard to please God just like Ive been working hard to achieve my goal.

Challenge: comment with your goals and obstacles in your life right now! And pray for God to give you the strength to overcome them and work hard to please God

P.S I am going to share my testimony soon if you know someone or you yourself have a powerful or inspirational testimony you would like to share along with me please email it to me and I will post it when I do mine. If you have been contemplating sharing your testimony. Go for it! God gives us testimonies to inspire people and spread his word and if I would've heard someone share a testimony when I was going through a rough time that was just like mine but it showed me God is working in my life I would've been overjoyed so don't be afraid and just send it in or tell someone or post it on your blog, if you would like to stay anonymous thats fine to just let me know.

How to Witness

People make many excuses about why they do not witness but one big one is I dont know how well here is a post sharing with you some stuff my preacher at church said and what I researched about witnessing and "how to do it"

1. Start off by complimenting the person or greeting them very friendly

2. Tell them you have to ask them a question and ask them this
Do you think you are going to heaven or hell

3. ( if they say heaven)
Point out their sins ask them if theyve lied and stole and gossiped and thought lustful thoughts and then ask them again if they think they are going to heaven or hell ( if they said hell to start out with skip to number 4)

4.

Show them a way out tell them about Gods grace and forgiveness and how you can give your life to Jesus

5. Pray with them if they want to asking Jesus into their lives

Big tip: dont be pushy!! If you see a family trying to have a nice day or a couple on a date be very respectful of their wishes and dont bug them. That can be a big "turn off" just be friendly!

Another way to witness is just by your actions; actions do speak louder than words and when people see how happy you always are or how good your life is they will wonder why you have it so good and want to have a relationship with God too. Sending sweet texts, letters, or blog comments with verses and stuff can also show people your a Christian and if you hang out with a crowd who wants to do bad things then talk about why God wouldnt like that.

So go out this week and do some witnessing for our mighty Lord

Use good language

Okay so we want our language and how we speak to reflect God and some words you dont even think are " bad words" are actually according to the Bible.

Swearing:

I personally dont think someone looks cool and in fact very uneduacted when they cuss so dont cuss or say stuff like freakin and other bad slang.

Using Gods name in vain:

Also do not use Gods name in vain saying Oh My God is a habit we all need to break also saying Lordy or Lord or Jesus or Christ or Holy in a bad way is the same thing. Even saying Geez is smilar to saying Jesus so dont use that.

Promise, dont swear:

Sometimes when we are making a promise we say I swear to God or I swear on my mothers life and in fact the Bible says that too is not good language.

So try to not use those words and break those habits of using words un pleasing to the Lord to sound cool or just out of habit.

Have a good week

Ashley

The giveaway will start within the next 2 weeks I have 2 out of 4 sponsors info I still need info from Emma Margret and Bailey Caras fron the Craft Crew. So thanks for your patience everyone:)
