Hope everyone can make it!

Postin on leap day!

Happy leap day or leap year or whatever!

So i have a really cool story to share! A really good Christian author Ann Margret Hovsepian that wrote that devotional Truth or dare I was telling you about contacted me and said she would send me a free copy to check out and review for you all!!!!
So when Ive read a few i am going to post a super cool review on what i thought about it! Seems like a really cool book from the preview online!

So anyway one of my besties Loren shared something really cool with me i felt like I should share it with you so here it goes...

I sometimes find the Old Testament and even the New Testament in the NKJ version a teensy weensy boring and kind of don't look forward to reading God's word.... which nobody should NOT want to read the Bible. So Loren said that one day while reading the Bible she thought I should enjoy my time with God and there has to be a better way to study his word! And then God spoke to her saying that you absolutely do not need to read the Bible beginning to end to be a good Christian you just have to learn God's word and there are multiple ways to do that..

1. Read a Bible made specifically for girls or teens and try to get either the New Century Version or the New International Version because those are made easier to read so you will enjoy them more.

2. DO DEVOTIONS!! This is my favorite way because they teach you the Bible in a super comprehensible way and highlight big points that are also very applicable to your life!

3. Go on Christian websites. Like mine, Christian websites help you with your spiritual life in a great way and are a better choice online then websites like social websites, gaming websites, and websites like YouTube not that I do not love all of those!

4. Another big one, PRAY! Just pray and talk to God, listen to God and meditate on his word.

Steps to meditating on God's word
(aka. meditating is not like sitting with your legs crossed and your fingers making circles it is just having quiet time with God)
1. study a verse, or word/ concept in the Bible
2. pray about the verse and ask God for clarity
3. Just sit and wait and listen to God's answer.

So just remember that reading the Bible is a wonderful, amazing, super good thing that will help your spiritual life a lot but it is not the only way to knowing God and his word!

Verse of the Week

This week I have 2 verses to share with you:

1 Corinthians 10:13

But remember, that the  temptations that come into your life are no different that what others experience. And God is faithful. He will keep temptation from becoming so strong that you can't stand up against it. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you will not give into it.

AND... special shout out to my friend Kate for sending me this verse ( remember you can send me a favorite verse and I may use it as a verse of the week and send you a shout out)

Nahum 1:7
The Lord is good. Giving protection in times of trouble- he knows who trusts him.

So thats about it! I love you all!!

The One Year Mother Daughter Devos

This book really is great to connect with your mom! I love how it gives you activities to do and gives you good questions to ask each other based on the daily devotion. It is a great 5 minutes out of your day to grow in your mom daughter relationship and your relationship with God.

(for younger siblings)

Step in to the Bible
By: Ruth Graham

My 6 year old brother and I try to do these every night. There are 100 devotions translated very easy so kids can understand stories of the bible and how to apply them to your life. It also gives you a memory verse for the week that my brother loves to work on and memorize and has very simple questions based on the devotional reading.

* Another great thing to do with younger siblings is to get a bible story book. My brother begs and looks forward every night to reading his Bedtime Bible Stories for kids. Most bible story books will be translated easy and fit helps to find one with some basic questions about the book

A book I do not have but am saving up to buy is called Truth and Dare: One Year of Dynamic Devotions for girls By: Ann- Margret Hovsepian. I read a preview of 3 devotions and they already gave me some  good advice!

Hope you enjoy these devotions! I have all of them listed and do them everyday ! They really help me with blog ideas, good tips, advice, cool verses, and just improve my spiritual life and increase my faith. Hope you can get a few! The best place to buy them at is Christianbook.com because they are much cheaper and Amazon.com is a great online store. They also have a bunch of these and more Christian books at Berean christian book store by the Tyler Mall.

  Love you all!!!

Bible Study 1: YBP

I am glad to get back to our online bible study (check posts below if you dont know what I am talking about)

This is a really cool Christian poject I challenege every single one of you to do to help pthers realize their self worth and self beauty. When you go to any public restroom keep some post- its that say an encouraging message on them in your purse or your pocket or really anything you take practically everywhere(my favorite messages are  simply Your Beautiful or God loves you but you can do any inspiring Christian messages on your post its) Then every time you go in a public restroom put one on the mirror so any girls feeling down can be inspired by your message! This project I made is called the YBP or your beautiful project! Also you can put these post-its on your own mirror if you are ever feeling down. I have 11 post- it notes on my closet mirror they say

What God Says...
1.That trials create spiritual endurance
2.that he loves us no matter what
3.do not gossip
4.to pray about everything
5.to love the enemy
6.that I am loved and worthy
7.to work enthusiastucally
8.to trust in him always
9.that we are beautiful because he created us
10.everything happens for a reason
11.we should be giving and selfless

Whenever i walk by my mirrors these stickys remind me how to live my life according to God's  standards

Another thing that improves the way I live my life is I write down a really long list of Jesus' characteristics and every month i pick one to work on and this helps me to strive to be more like Jesus. This month accept the challenge of trying to be more forgiving.

I am going to end this little bible study with a verse that really goes with our theme

"God does not see us as humans see us. Humans look at outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart."
1 Samuel 16:7

Remember your self worth, your self beauty and that God created you in his image and I love every one of us but God loves you even more than I do!

New Segment: word of the week

Hey my lovely blog followers,
Alert! Alert! I am creating a new blog segment called Word of The Week Have you noticed that in the bible most verses use the same key words over and over? Well in this segment we are really going to dig deeper into the Bible and find the true meaning of those words according to our Bible
Our first word is Faith:

What does the Bible say about faith?:
"Faith means being sure of the things you hope for and knowing that something is real even if we do not see it."
Hebrews 11:1

1 Corinthians 16:13 Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong

2 Corinthians 5:6-7 So we are always of good courage. We know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord, for we walk by faith, not by sight.

Ephesians 6:16 (KJV) Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked

Matthew 15:28 Then Jesus answered her, “O woman, great is your faith! Be it done for you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed instantly

What does faith mean to you? Comment down below what you would say to a non believer if they asked you what faith was!

Love you!!!!

Swagbucks & Cool Apps to play with friends

Hey everyone... theres this awesome website called Swagbucks online and it is truly amazing you will love it like sooo much. Okay so basically it is a system where you earn virtual cash (Swagbucks) but with those you can buy real things from the Swagbucks store. They have everything from jewelry, school supplies, video games, iPads, and my favorite gift cards. Each item costs a different amount of Swagbucks. You can earn Swagbucks by
1. just simply making an account earns you 50 SB ( a 5 dollar amazon gift card is only 500 SB)
2.searching the web. You can download the Swagbucks toolbar onto your computer as you search engine and every time you search you have a chance to win Swagbucks
3. Taking surveys- surveys can earn you anywhere from 2 SB- over 1000 SB
4. Paying games- they have some awesome games on there and each time you play you have a chance to earn SB
5. daily deals- they offer promos such as signing up for a website, ordering things online, or even downloading coupons on to your grocery store savings card can earn you SB

My favorite one is number 2 because I search the web anyway why not have a chance to earn Swagbucks which basically turns into real cash over time!!

Also if you do decide to sign up every time you win from searching the web they match the Swagbucks and put it on to my account so when you sign up enter my referral link

The website is
www.swagbucks.com/

And I really am not just trying to get your referral thing it truly is an amazing website that I use every day that will pay off big in the long run by doing simple every day things you already do!

Love ya

P.S

There is a cool free app I just got called Draw Something. The app gives you 3 choices of what to draw an easy option a medium option and a hard option. The hard option earns 3 points the medium 2 and the easy 1. You play with other friends that have the app and they try to guess what you drew. If they guess it right they get a number of points. Whoever has the most points at the end of however many rounds the game is wins!
Draw Something App

New Blog Im in LOOVE with- Dancing for Jesus

Hey girlies,
One of my amazing Christian friends and my faithful blog follower Loren Campbell created a new blog called dancing for jesus. This blog is a Christian blog and a dance blog, but even if you are not a dancer you will still love it! She is just getting started blogging and would really love it if some of you guys can follow her or at least check it out but as I said she is just getting started so keep checking it out every week as it gets better!

Here is a copy of her first post

Hey everybody! Thanks for checking out my blog. First of all I want to tell you guys to check out my friend Ashley's blog. It's called Pray LOVE Live. Here's the link:  http://luv2sing-mypre-teenjourney.blogspot.com/ So make sure u guys read her blogs too because she is amazing and I love her and so will you!

Ok so next I just want to tell you what to expect from this blog. It's a Christian dance blog but anyone is welcome to read it of course! And some of the things I'm going to do on this blog are give dancing tips, put up links to videos of amazing dancers, just chat about the latest dance news, and more! But most of all what i want you to get out of this blog is; just like everything else in our lives, we do this for christ. So let's get started!

Ok so this first video may seem to go against the morals I just mentioned. It's a competition dance to Single Ladies by Beyonce. These girls are only seven years old but they are amazing. Their costumes and dance moves are a little mature but if we look past that, we can really appreciate this dance and the amazing talent in these girls! I'm so excited to show you guys this video if you haven't already seen it! Here's the link.  http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=ir8BO4-7DkM

This blog is going to be a little different than the rest because it's the first one and I'm still getting used to everything. But I'm hoping to put a blog up twice a week, Wednesdays and Saturdays. Also, something I want to do each week is set a goal; one for dancing and one for God.

Dancing GOAL of the Week: Do 100 releves at home every day to strengthen my ankles.
I hope all you dancers out there will attempt this goal with me! You can change the amount to better fit your abilities. My God goal will be up on Wednesdays. Thanks everyone for checking out my blog! I have plenty more coming your way! See you on Wednesday Please subscribe!

If you want to check her out heres her link

http://dancelife-dancingforjesus.blogspot.com/

Thanks my loves!
-Ashley

P.S (to Loren)
Thanks Loren for always being there for me on my blog. I really love that you are so supportive in everything I do such as blogging and dance. Just wanted to let you know that means a lot to me and that is just an amazing Christian thing to do. You will get an extra jewel in your crown when you go to heaven for being this kind of amazing friend to me. Love you girl!!

Ashley

Sing for the lord

Hey Girls,

In church worship I always feel a little uncomfortable singing. As much as I love to sing it still feels a little awkward so I usually just quietly mouth the words or very softly sing them but, when doing my devotions I learned big lesson: dont be afraid to sing out the Lord's praises. When we sing for the Lord he enjoys it and who doesn't want to please the Lord. How would you feel if at your birthday party people quietly sang Happy birthday or just mouthed it. Not so good but if people sang loudly and with energy for you it would make you feel honored, same with the Lord. So during church, youth group, or even at home in your room SING for the Lord. He created you and sent his son to die for you we should just do him the smallest favor and sing for our great God.We shouldnt feel embarrassed to sing for our Lord. Obviously everyone else at church loves the Lord. So inspire the shy quiet girl to join you in belting out song for the Lord!!!

Scripture:

Psalm 96:1
Sing to the Lord a new song;sing to the Lord all of Earth

Psalm 92:1
It is good to give thanks to the Lord, to sing praises to your name, O Most High.

Psalm 105:2
Sing to him, sing praises to him, tell of all his wonderful works.

Isaiah 12:5
Sing unto the LORD; for he hath done excellent things: this is known in all the earth

2 Samuel 22:1
David sang to the LORD the words of this song when the LORD delivered him from the hand of all his enemies and from the hand of Saul.

Proverbs 3:5-6

Only one wish....

If you had only one wish what would it be

Unlimited super powers, riches, beauty, love, more wishes...... Anything!

God tells us that if we had only one wish we should chose the greatest thing that could ever happen to someone..., to get to LIVE in Gods kingdom eternally! So next time your asked if you could have one wish what would it be thats the best wish that could ever be granted

Verses about heaven

Revelation 21:4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.
Philippians 1:21-23 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. If I am to live in the flesh, that means fruitful labor for me. Yet which I shall choose I cannot tell. I am hard pressed between the two. My desire is to depart and be with Christ, for that is far better.

Colossians 3:1-7

Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God.  Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.  For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.  When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.  Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry.  Because of these, the wrath of God is coming.  You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived.

Happy Valentines Day Girlies... hope you spread all your looove to others today:)

Great Books

 Hey girlies,
I just finished some amazing books that you should definitely read if you haven't already!
Heres my favorite books of all time ( in order of greatness)

The Hunger Games:
To make the summary short, this takes place in the future when North America is a country called Panem. It's made up of 12 districts. Every year the country holds what is called "The Hunger Games". Every district sends a boy and a girl to represent the district and they all fight for their lives. The Hunger Games are televised for everyone else to see. We follow Katniss as she represents her district and tries to win by being the last one alive

I know it sounds kind of bad but its the best book ever!

The Help:

Set in Mississippi during the 1960s, Skeeter is a southern society girl who returns from college determined to become a writer, but turns her friends' lives -- and a Mississippi town -- upside down when she decides to interview the black women who have spent their lives taking care of prominent southern families. Aibileen , Skeeter's best friend's housekeeper, is the first to open up -- to the dismay of her friends in the tight-knit black community. Despite Skeeter's life-long friendships hanging in the balance, she and Aibileen continue their collaboration and soon more women come forward to tell their stories -- and as it turns out, they have a lot to say. Along the way, unlikely friendships are forged and a new sisterhood emerges, but not before everyone in town has a thing or two to say themselves when they become unwittingly -- and unwillingly -- caught up in the changing times.

Mysterious Benedict Society:

Four children, Reynie Muldoon, George "Sticky" Washington, Kate Wetherall, and Constance Contraire, pass a series of tests advertised in the newspaper and meet Mr. Benedict, a man trying to stop something known as "The Thing to Come". Mr. Benedict sends them to The Learning Institute for the Very Enlightened (L.I.V.E.), where they meet Ledroptha Curtain, a man trying to take over the world using subliminal messages.

Radiance:
Riley Bloom left her sister, Ever, in the world of the living and crossed the bridge into the afterlife—a place called Here, where time is always Now. Riley and her dog, Buttercup, have been reunited with her parents and are just settling into a nice, relaxing death when she's summoned before The Council. They let her in on a secret—the afterlife isn't just an eternity of leisure; Riley has to work. She's been assigned a job, Soul Catcher, and a teacher, Bodhi, a curious boy she can't quite figure out.

Sean Griswold's Head:

Haha sorry this summary is down farther

Payton hates that her family didn’t tell her about her father’s MS, a disease that is impairing him and scaring her.
Her guidance counselor suggests a focus object to well, focus on in her time of crisis. Payton chooses Sean, or more specifically, his head. Little does she know that there is so much more to this boy than a finely crafted skull, but she is about to find out!

The Incorrigible Children of Ashton Place:
Found running wild in the forest of Ashton Place, the Incorrigibles are no ordinary children: Alexander, age ten or thereabouts, keeps his siblings in line with gentle nips; Cassiopeia, perhaps four or five, has a bark that is (usually) worse than her bite; and Beowulf, age somewhere-in-the-middle, is alarmingly adept at chasing squirrels.
Luckily, Miss Penelope Lumley is no ordinary governess. Only fifteen years old and a recent graduate of the Swanburne Academy for Poor Bright Females, Penelope embraces the challenge of her new position. Though she is eager to instruct the children in Latin verbs and the proper use of globes, first she must help them overcome their canine tendencies.
But mysteries abound at Ashton Place: Who are these three wild creatures, and how did they come to live in the vast forests of the estate? Why does Old Timothy, the coachman, lurk around every corner? Will Penelope be able to teach the Incorrigibles table manners and socially useful phrases in time for Lady Constance's holiday ball? And what on earth is a schottische?

Challenge for this week

Here is a challenge for you! I know you can do it.
Whether at school, the store, extra curricular activities, wherever the challenege is to make friends or be kind to someone who isnt very popular, or gets made fun of, or is lonely, or sad, or doesn't know Jesus. You don't really have to full on preach the word of God to them but just be friendly and that will witness for him just as well as preaching the gospel. Here are some verses that inspired me to do this.

"Live in peace with each other. Do not be proud but make friends with those who seem unimportant."
Romans 12:16

"But before people can ask the Lord for help they must believe in Him, and before they can believe in Him they must hear about Him, and for them to hear about the Lord someone must tell them"
Romans 10:14

" How beautiful is the person who comes to bring good news"
Isaiah  52:6

"Yes, I try to fins common ground with everyone so that I may bring them to Christ"
1 Corinthians 9:22

" In Christ Jesus, God made us to do good works, which God planned in advance for us to live our lives doing"
Ephesians 2:10

But the Lord said to me, “Do not say, ‘I am only a youth’; for to all to whom I send you, you shall go, and whatever I command you, you shall speak. Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you to deliver you, declares the Lord.”

Jeremiah 1: 7-8

So there it is be kind to all to the enemies, to the geeks, to the popular snobs, to your teachers, to the lunch ladies, to the janitors, TO EVERYONE for that is what the Lord commands us to do.

Prayer and the new verse of the week

Sometimes I find prayer really overwelming. i have so many things to thank God for, to ask him for, to praise him for and I get so overwelmed but as I was reading my Bible today I found some verse that I love. It is an actual prayer that God says is an example for how your prayer should go and I loved it.

Dear Our father in Heaven,
may your name always be kept holy. May your kingdom come and what you want to be done, here on Earth like it is in Heaven. Give us the food we need for each day. Forgive us for our sins, just as we have forgiven those who sinned against us.Do not cause us to be tempted but save us from the Evil One. The kingdom, power, and glory are yours forever.
Amen
Matthew 6:9-13

So basically, all worries that go beyond this prayer he already knows and will take care of them!!

Here is the new verse of the week that I found also in Matthew. I love that Book of the Bible:)

If you love only the people who love you,you will get no reward and if your only nice to your friends you are no better than other anyone else. Even those who do not know God are nice to their friends.
Matthew 5:46-47

I like this verse because it is sooo true I am always nice to my friends but sometimes when it comes to my family the people who love me most I am not as nice as I am to my friends so this verse reminds me to be nice to EVERYONE!

Proverbs 3:5-6
